Beltone Warranty

What Does Your Beltone Hearing Aid Warranty Cover?

Your hearing aids are an investment in your hearing, so knowing what support you have if something goes wrong is part of taking care of your devices. But what is actually covered if your hearing aids stop working, need repair, or get lost?

That is where understanding your Beltone warranty can make a real difference. Beltone hearing aids have both a standard manufacturer’s warranty and additional BelCare support, but each offers different benefits and coverage. Knowing how the coverage works for each of them gives you a place to start when there is a problem with your hearing aids.

Understanding Your Beltone Coverage

There are two main parts to hearing aid warranty coverage with Beltone, there’s the standard manufacturer warranty and BelCare support.

Every new Beltone hearing aid comes with a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. This is a basic level of protection against any defects or service problems during the first year of use.

BelCare is a separate service plan offered directly from Beltone. It adds ongoing support and additional benefits that you can access at any of our Beltone Skoric’s Michigan hearing aid centers. Unlike the manufacturer’s warranty, which covers only the device itself, BelCare helps you use, maintain, and support the long-term performance of your hearing aids.

What the Standard Manufacturer Warranty Covers

Beltone’s limited manufacturer warranty lasts 12 months from the date your hearing aids ship. It protects against defects in materials and workmanship, so it generally covers your device if it stops working due to a manufacturer-related issue. If the defect is covered, the repair is typically covered at no charge to you.

If something seems wrong with your hearing aids, you should bring them back to your Beltone hearing aid center, where a hearing care professional can inspect them, identify the issue, and determine whether it is fixable in office or needs to be sent out for factory repair.

What Is Not Covered

In most cases, standard hearing aid warranty coverage does not include:

  • Batteries
  • Tubing
  • Earmolds
  • Routine wear
  • Damage from dropping or misuse
  • Improper cleaning or maintenance
  • Unauthorized repairs

BelCare Goes Beyond the Standard Warranty

Our BelCare service plan is an added layer of ongoing support that helps you take care of your hearing aids and your hearing loss journey. When you purchase hearing aids from Beltone Skoric, you benefit from this service plan, which includes:

  • Annual hearing consultations
  • Follow-up care and adjustments
  • Quality control review of hearing aid settings
  • Better hearing verification after fitting
  • Counseling and support as you adjust to hearing aids
  • Access to support while traveling, including Beltone’s national support line

Our goal is to make sure your hearing aids continue to fit well, sound right, and keep up with changes in your hearing.

What Beltone’s Lost, Stolen, and Damaged Coverage Includes

Beltone’s Lost, Stolen, and Damaged coverage is a part of the BelCare service plan. Using this benefit and replacing your hearing aids does not restart the warranty period, and coverage applies only to the original purchaser. Claims usually require documentation, and this coverage is not transferable. LS&D coverage typically includes:

  • One replacement per hearing aid
  • Coverage for accidental loss, theft, or damage
  • Coverage during the first 12 months
  • A deductible per claim

There are also a few important limits to keep in mind. This part of BelCare doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, damage from unauthorized repairs, intentional damage, or damage stemming from improper maintenance.

This type of coverage can be especially helpful for people who travel often, live active lifestyles, or simply want extra peace of mind with smaller devices that are easy to misplace.

How BelCare Helps If Your Hearing Changes

Part of offering you ongoing support through BelCare includes a two-year protection to account for any measurable changes in hearing loss.

If your hearing changes within 24 months of when you first purchased your devices and a hearing test shows that your hearing loss has increased by at least 15 decibels compared to your original results, you may be able to get a one-time hearing aid upgrade or exchange for a device that better fits your hearing needs, and we’ll try to keep you in a similar model or style if possible.

This part of our hearing aid service plan is especially valuable if your hearing changes faster than expected. We want to help you make sure your hearing aids continue to meet your hearing needs over time.

When an In-Office Fix Is Enough and When Warranty Coverage May Apply

Not every hearing aid issue requires a warranty claim or factory repair. In many cases, many common hearing aid problems can be handled in-office, often the same day, without sending the device out for repairs, meaning no downtime for you.

Issues that can often be fixed in office include:

  • Device cleaning and wax removal
  • Fit or programming adjustments
  • Feedback or whistling issues
  • Bluetooth or app troubleshooting
  • Weak or unclear sound

These kinds of problems are often related to maintenance, fit, or settings and can usually be resolved without relying on warranty coverage.

Using you hearing aid warranty is typically more useful when the issue goes beyond routine care, such as:

  • Your hearing aid stops working and basic troubleshooting does not help
  • The device has an internal issue, charging problem, or hardware failure
  • A manufacturer defect may be involved
  • Your hearing aid has been lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged and your plan includes LS&D coverage
  • Your hearing changes enough that your current devices may no longer be the right fit

In those cases, the experts at our Michigan hearing aid centers can help determine whether the device needs factory service, qualifies for repair coverage, or should be evaluated under your warranty.
